Heene Helping Hands
(Reg. Charity No. 1065053)
Who are we?
Heene Helping Hands (HHH) is the school fundraising group and a registered charity, which has run since 1997. It is formed of parents, carers and teachers who aim to foster a sense of school community and organise fundraising events.
What do we do?
We run the Christmas, Easter and Summer Fairs, and other fundraising events during the school year (and we manage to enjoy ourselves along the way!).
What is the money used for?
This year we contributed £1000 to subsidise school trips enabling the children to learn whilst enjoying a fun day out. We also buy extra non-curriculum equipment to enrich the children’s experience of school. Funds raised over the last couple of years have bought staging for use at school performances, mini-greenhouses for gardening club, new picnic tables and activity panels/blackboards for the school playground.
What commitment is involved?
Frequency of our meetings is scheduled around the Fairs, usually for a couple of hours maximum – no more than about ten times a year. The environment is warm, open, friendly and sociable – usually involving coffee and biscuits or cakes! It’s a great way to meet other parents and because there are a large number of willing hands, all activities are shared out equally. You sign up for what you are able to contribute (or not – depending on your circumstances at the time) and no one is overly burdened.
