School Organisation

The School is currently organised into nine classes ranging in age throughout the School with each child being in a class with a maximum six month age range.

The number of teaching hours a week, outside registration and assemblies is 23 1/2 hours for year 3 and 21 1/2 hours for Years R-2.  play times and lunch times are staggered with year 3 having forty minutes and Year R-2 45 minutes for lunch.  Year 3 have a break in the morning only.

The school has achieved Healthy Schools status and only healthy snacks are allowed in school. We also have a Healthy Eating co-ordinator with food hygiene certification.

If a person other than yourself or your partner is picking up your child at the end of the day a letter needs to be given to the office that morning.

Attendance

Registration is from 8.50-9.00 am, if children arrive later than this they will already have been marked absent. When they do arrive ethey must report to the main office where we are legally required to write their time of arrival.

We require a phone call to tell us if your child is ill and will be away from school, with a note of explanation on their return. If this does not happen the absence automatically becomes unauthorised. Parents must have authorisation from the Headteacher before taking their child out of school for any reason other than medical. You must report to the office each time you enter or leave the school building If  you collect your child for an appointment during the school day. The Governing Body has some discretion to authorise absences but Government guidelines request that children are not taken out of school during their National Curriculm Tests, years 2, 6 and 11.
